Silvia Coronel - CEO
Our CEO, Silvia Coronel graduated from university majoring in
Engineering in Tourism and Environmental Management, she speaks English, Spanish, French and Portuguese.
Silvia lived in Galápagos and has been actively involved in the Cruise
business and Tourism industry for 32 years. Silvia’s first-hand
experience of the business allowed her to know almost every ship owner, realiable suppliers in the archipelago and mainland of Ecuador.
Silvia’s love, passion and knowledge for Galapagos and its touristic
services are immense and her name is synonymous of confidence, ethic, commitment to promote sustainable tourism in our country and life-changing and unique experiences for your Galápagos Vacations.
When not planning and managing the organization, can usually be found reading, cooking Ecuadorian typical food, dancing and spending time with her family, dog and cat.
Doménica Sotomayor
Doménica is the Sales and Administrative Manager at Galápagos Experience. She was born in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz, Galápagos and grew up in Quito; she has been successfully working in the tourism sector for five years.
She is a Lawyer from Universidad Católica Santiago de Guayaquil, with a Postgraduate in Philosophy of Law from Universidad San Francisco de Quito. She speaks English, French, and Portuguese. With experience in various areas, from her internship in the legal department of the Galápagos National Park to working in law firms and a notary’s office, she brings a valuable and comprehensive perspective to the company. Doménica is highly committed to conservation and sustainable practices for the development of tourism in Ecuador.
Cheerful, creative, and responsible, Doménica is known for her ability to connect with clients and her skill in adapting to new challenges. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis and reading, which helps her stay inspired and motivated in her daily work.
Sebastián Sotomayor
Sebastián is a Geographic Engineer specialized in Environmental Management from Universidad Católica del Ecuador, with six years of experience in the tourism industry. Additionally, he is a Certified Naturalist Guide by the Galápagos National Park. He serves as our Marketing and Operations Director, dedicated to designing and promoting unique experiences that connect visitors with the biodiversity and magic of the Galápagos Islands.
One of his greatest passions is the sea, which has led him to obtain Open Water and Freediving certifications to practice Scuba in Galápagos. As a naturalist guide, he enjoys sharing the natural and cultural wealth of our country, always focused on delivering excellent service based on respect, kindness, and professionalism. His experience also includes operations and logistics for tourism vessels.
Sebastián speaks Spanish and English and is constantly seeking personal and professional growth. He is passionate about photography, innovation, and adventure sports, holding a diploma in Underwater Photography.
Dedicated to sustainable tourism and environmental management, he strives to contribute to a more conscious world, promoting responsible practices and a love for nature.
Erick Peñaherrera
Erick is our IT Manager and Product Developer at Galápagos Experience, he holds a degree in Mechatronics Engineering from the International University of Ecuador, speaks English and Spanish with a strong background in electronics, control systems, and automation technologies. With experience in project implementation and technical problem-solving, he provides efficient, results-oriented solutions. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Information Technology at the University of Palermo in Argentina
Additionally, he actively contributes to
marketing strategies and the design of promotional materials. With a creative
and proactive approach, Erick is dedicated to optimizing processes and ensuring
customer satisfaction.
In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis
and going to the gym. He also loves going out with his family in the city and
surrounding area.
Leslie Bonilla
Leslie has been an Accounting Assistant at Galápagos Experience for two years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Auditing from ESPE University in Ecuador and a Master’s degree in Compliance, Money Laundering, and Data Protection.
She has extensive experience in the accounting field, and her passion for her work has led her to take on a variety of projects, standing out for her ability to solve complex problems and design innovative solutions.
She has developed a unique work style that combines an excellence- and detail-oriented approach, demonstrating a continuous commitment to learning and improvement, which has allowed her to stay at the forefront of her industry.
Outside of her professional life, Leslie plays basketball and goes to the gym, which helps her maintain a balanced perspective and enrich her professional approach with new ideas.
Marianela Trejo
Marianela Trejo has been the General Accountant at Galápagos Experience for four years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Auditing from the Central University of Ecuador, with over 30 years of experience in the accounting and financial field. She has worked in various companies and institutions, including the oil, education, and tourism sectors.
She has extensive training in tax regulations, IFRS, leadership, human talent management, and quality management. Her commitment to excellence has driven her to continuously update her knowledge in accounting and administrative matters.
In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, walking, and spending time with her family.
